For videos I'm currently using the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, a nice device, but after using the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 I'll certainly switching to the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 as soon as it's available sometime in 2026, I hope. I'm going lightweight or even almost ultralight ... no more heavy photography backpacks, except for one Lowepro backpack, which I use for shorther hikes. For longer or harder hikes or for overnight hikes I have started using the lightweight Bergans Vengetind 42 backpack or, if I have to carry more stuff, the ultralight backpack Kakwa 55 from Durston, that I have modified a little bit, but it's still less than half the weight of my Lowepro backpack. I have bought lightweight hiking and camping gear as well as I have started taking only one lens with me, the Canon RF 24-240 and/or the Canon RF 16-28mm, which are a "cheap" lenses, at least compared to my other lenses, but they work fine and I can't see much of a difference. More about my ultralight hiking and photographing is in my blog. |

And last but not least one of the most important things for my photography: in 2022 I bought a white 2014 VW Caddy (Caddy 2K / Caddy III) and converted it to a camper van. It's the short version of the Caddy, but since I'm not the tallest person, it's quite useable for me and I enjoy sleeping in the van. |
