I love being in the mountains. There are not many things that I enjoy more than to sit on a mountain peak and watch the rising sun. Because I'm living in Carinthia in the soth of Austria, among other mountains, the Nock Mountains in Carinthia, the Julian Alps in Slovenia and especially the Italian Dolomites are the places I visit on a quite regularly basis.

I believe, woodland photography is one of the hardest genres of photography, at least for me.
So, instead of taking photos of trees, which I also do if I manage to find a scene that I like, I prefer to photograph the smaller scenes ... the "Intimate Woodland" or "Intimate Nature". These are mostly macro photos, which I take using the focus-stacking method. You can find such photos on the Macro Photography page.

Where's my Mojo?

At first, let me tell you how it all began.

It had been about 15 years since I last sat on a bicycle, but last autumn an idea popped into my head and simply wouldn't go away: What if I did something besides hiking? What if I tried a different form of exercise and did even more for my health? What if I bought a bicycle to get to my favourite photo spots near home or in the mountains more quickly?

"Bike, hike, and take photos" was the idea that refused to leave my head ...
